during the Art Crawl: JOSH AGLE (Shag)
Josh Agle (probably better known as Shag, a contraction of the last two letters of his first name and the first two letters of his last) is apainter, illustrator and designer working in Southern California. His initial intention to establish a career as a commercial illustrator was sidetracked when his original paintings began to garner considerable attention from galleries and collectors. Since his first solo gallery show in 1997, Shag has had successful solo exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. His original paintings and prints can be found in the collections of celebrities and art collectors worldwide.
In March 2005, Shag’s artwork was brought to life on the stage by the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Commission, when Shag With A Twist debuted. The production, a murder mystery told in music and dance, featured characters and settings taken directly from Shag’s paintings and prints.

Hours: Friday: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Sat and Sun
- 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
In a town that is filled to the brim with people who say they are making art but in reality are just tyring to get their next dollar, it is refreshing to visit a gallery that lacks the LA pretense. The LIONESS ART GALLERY on Sunset Boulevard stands on its own and lets the viewer come to his own conclusion.
Silverlake is a part of town known for its eclectic and quirky sensibility. There is the LA flash, as only Sunset can provide, yet the area melts together the Latin and African cultures into a unique brand all its own. The LIONESS ART GALLERY brings together two unique cultures and reminds us that art transcends languages and national borders.
Exhibiting During the Crawl:
Dutch Artist LazaR. LazaR combines the technique and craftmanship of the old Dutch Masters with an unlimited imagination. His work has exhibited in Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic.
