Lauren Gardiner's newest series, Mentally Unfit Saints, exhibit's Lauren's love of portraiture, gold leaf and historical
weirdos all rolled into one. Religious Russian icons were the perfect inspiration to create her own collection of phony saints,
lacing them with a hint of humor and cynicism. Worship the fake relics to cure all that ails you!
And let Lauren know if they do in fact cure all that ails you, so she can charge admission and start her own cult.

Lauren was born in New York, but grew up in Singapore, Australia and England. After graduating in Illustration in 1998 from the Rhode Island School of Design, she moved to Los Angeles and has been exhibiting at La Luz de Jesus since 2003.

Her paintings are so in demand that someone decided they HAD to have two of them from her last exhibition and just plucked them right off the gallery wall. Hope they are happy because, although strangely flattering, Lauren hates thieves.
