Rob Clayton

"No Rhyme Nor Reason"

November 7 - 30, 1997

Born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1963, Rob Clayton went on to graduate from Art Center College of Design in 1988. His work has appeared in numerous publications including Time, Us, Spin, and The Los Angeles Times. Rob has abeen influenced by a lifetime of traveling within The United States, devouring all the visual stimulus and regenerating it in the form of painted stories. He strarts with a story in his head and uses his images, often drawn from superstition, as a sort of visual vocabulary. Like a child's feverish dream, the benign and familiar become ominous in an instant. The artist currently teaches at Art Center and continues to pursue a successful freelance illustration career in between exhibits. This is his third solo show at La Luz de Jesus.
