de Jesus Gallery is delighted to announce the return of Alan Forbes
and his hand painted pop sculpture. Born in 1968, the self taught
artist has created a very unique medium to reconceptualize modern
culture. Forbes takes found objects and painstakingly crafts them
with acrylic and brush, wrapping his vision of our own mythology and
iconography around each piece. Taking insights from the visuals of
Ed Roth, Robert Williams and Mad Magazine and mixing them with the
literary influences of William Burroughts and Rimbaud, he creates
mini shrines to a skewed universe. Forbes is one of our most popular
artists and we look forward to another successful exhibition of his
fantastic three dimensional art pieces..
