"Uncommercial Art By Commercial Artists"

March 5 - 28, 1999

La Luz De Jesus Gallery proudly presents its second annual juried group exhibition, "Uncommercial Art By Commercial Artists". This is a gigantic, no-theme exhibition featuring pieces from some of the brightest talents in art today. We launched the idea last year, inviting commercial illustrators to submit work of a more personal nature, and it was a huge success. This year we have extended the invitation to any and all artists and we are presently sifting and sorting through, what will by March 5th, be a gloriously eclectic art show. The show will include all our favorite artists, who consistently come through with some of the most interesting paintings and sculpture in town, as well as a large selection of work from a brand new batch of undiscovered, underground talent. This is a wonderful forum for us and for our audiences to check out the latest art trends and currents and get first glimpses of tomorrow's stars. It is also an incredible coup for the art buyers, who can peruse somewhere around 150 pieces of juried artwork all in one viewing, at their very lowest prices. This year's exhibition will feature works from Mark Ryden, Shag, Eric White, Owen Smith, Christian and Rob Clayton, just to name a few of our trusted favorites. Please join us this March in supporting the latest and most original efforts from the nation's underground art scene.
