Liz McGrath

"Milk Blood"

February 2-25, 2001

Liz McGrath's "incarceration" at the Victory Baptist Home for Girls fueled her first artistic ventures: angry punk rock fliers for her punk rock band and the conception of her fanzine, Censor. From there her career took off in many directions. Her experience as an art director in film, animation and music video has not just influenced her current artistic endeavors but enhances them as well. Liz McGrath's dioramas are static/traveling freak shows - displaying rotting, subhuman figures luxuriously dressed for your pleasure, perusal and contempt. This will be Liz's first show at La Luz de Jesus since her dramatic debut in our Uncommercial Art by Commercial Artists exhibit last March.
