"Pink Bits and the Glory of Autumn:
The Sissy Art of Eric White and Joe Sorren"

Eric White is an artist (he prefers to be called a human being) whose hyper-anal paintings aim to: a) brazenly manifest the New Paradigm; b) induce a state of mild psychosis in the viewer, through the mutation of human forms and the misuse of pop iconography; c) cause of few group hugs. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1968, White has excelled in both the commercial and gallery circuit. His imagery, severely distorted, acute, and fully rendered is wrought almost exclusively in oil on canvas, and strives for coherent abstraction through specificity. The result is a paranoid and erotic, socio-political satire in the form of engaging, albeit disturbing, paintings. The subject matter is usually lurid, the compositions are always striking and the technique is super refined and magnificent. Eric White, who some fan has dubbed the "Anti-Norman Rockwell", is one of our most successful and most appreciated artists. We are excited and proud to announce his third show with La Luz de Jesus Gallery, where his unique brand of melted realism® explores issues probably better left to psychotherapy. |
