La Luz de Jesus Gallery is proud to present the art of Gary Baseman. Baseman is creator and executive producer of the new, critically acclaimed, ABC/Disney animated television show Teachers's Pet. Teacher's Pet recently won both the Emmy award for Best Daytime Animated series and a British Emmy (BAFTA) for best International Children's Programming. His artwork continues to muck up the pages of most major publications including The New Yorker, Time, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Blab, Reader's Digest and the Atlantic Monthly. He was a featured artist in Juxtapoz magazine and recently dubbed as Entertainment Weekly's "It" Animator. Even the corporate world has been smeared by Baseman's drawings. The range of international corporate clients include Nike, Chili's, Gatorade, Mercedes-Benz and Capitol Records. Baseman's images also create the identity of the best selling game "Cranium," which also won Game of the Year at 2002 Toyfair. His work is in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in D.C. and the Museum of Modern Art in Rome. He has also lectured at the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Royal College of Art in London and the Art Center in Los Angeles. Entertainment Weekly recently named Baseman as one of the Most 100 Creative People in Entertainment. He was born and is back in Hollywood after doing a ten-year stint in NYC.
