Alan Forbes
"The Last Time Again"
September 6 - 29, 2002
|
Born in Stamford, Connecticut in 1968, Alan Forbes eschewed art school in favor of direct involvement in the commercial field. Alan's whole career has been spent in the rock 'n' roll realm of merchandising and designing for such labels as Def American, Sympathy for the Record Industry and various rock bands including the Black Crowes and The Cult. His work is currently on display in the American Visionary Art Museum's new exhibit "High on Life: Transcending Addiction." Forbes' influences come from Mad magazine, Byron Werner, William Burroughs and Rimbaud. Alan Forbes has pretty much created his own medium. Although well known for his meticulously painted three dimensional objects d'art, Forbes has branched out and included other "found canvases" in his new show at La Luz de Jesus.
