"The
Idiots Abroad: Welcome to the
Cartoon Brut Landscape"

With this new collection of paintings, The Pizz moves beyond his past focus on figures to create complex, colorful landscapes and environments. Vistas such as a tropical jungle, LA freeway or Havana street scene all share as much emphasis, and have as much personality, as the characters inhabiting them. And with Pizz's trademark cartoon style and eye-popping palette, "The Idiots Abroad: Welcome to the Cartoon Brut Landscape," promises to be an adventure for not only Pizz's loyal audience, but also those just discovering his work. The Pizz has been exhibiting with La Luz de Jesus Gallery for over a decade and La Luz de Jesus Press published Atavistic Avatar:The Cartoon Brut Art of The Pizz last year. He was also one of twenty-three artists chosen for inclusion in Ignition Publishing's 2004 release Pop Surrealism: The Rise of Underground Art. The Pizz himself can be seen committing such monstrous acts as turning a Cadillac into a home drive in theatre and a coffin into a refrigerator on the Discovery channel's new program How to Monsterize Anything. |
