Scott G. Brooks
December 1-31, 2006

Scott G. Brooks combines a wry sense of humor with unwavering scrutiny to create quirky narratives that can be both sentimental and disturbing. His work captures his offbeat view of society and the scraps of truth along its fringes.

Originally from Flint, Michigan, he started his artistic life on paper bags. Moving to canvas, he earned his undergraduate degree in Fine Arts at the University of Michigan in 1983. In addition to his career as a fine artist, Scott has illustrated several children’s books, including The Three Armadillies Tuff and The Ring Bear. Several more are slated for 2007.
